Day by day

Day by day

Day 1

Arrive into Ushuaia and settle in to your hotel for the night. Choose to walk around the town and try the local restaurants, or walk down to the waterfront to take a photo with the famous sign that welcomes you to ‘fin del mundo’ – the end of the earth.

Day 2

Ushuaia - Embark Hebridean Sky

Explore a bit more of Ushuaia before boarding the Hebridean Sky. You’ll have some time to get to know the ship as you meet your fellow passengers and sail out into the beautiful Beagle Channel.

Overnight: M/S Hebridean Sky (B, D)

Days 3-4

Drake Passage

With excitement in the air you will sail across the Drake Passage. Regardless of the seas - which are often notoriously rough - once you get your first glimpse of Antarctica the crossing will suddenly be forgotten. Look out for the wandering albatross, and various other seabirds that will follow your journey to the Peninsula.

Overnight: M/S Hebridean Sky (B, L, D)

Days 5-12

Antarctic Peninsula & Antarctic Circle

As you sail south with the intention of crossing the Antarctic Circle, the landscape becomes wilder and more spectacular. The goal will be to sail into Martha Strait or Marguerite Bay, but will be dependent on ice conditions. As you head north again, you will be able to marvel at the icebergs which resemble sculpted works of art, as well as the colossal tabular icebergs which dwarf the Zodiacs as you sail past them. You’ll of course want to spend some time with the abundance of penguins which call Antarctica home, as they hop and wander across the beaches, sometimes coming right up to you as you sit in awe.

Overnight: M/S Hebridean Sky (B, L, D)

Days 13-14

Drake Passage

As you sail north again across the Antarctic Convergence, you’ll have some time to reflect on the experience, or watch the seabirds swoop around the decks as you get closer to Ushuaia. Enjoy a final dinner and slideshow on board as you sail into the Beagle Channel.

Overnight: M/S Hebridean Sky (B, L, D)

Day 15

This morning, disembark in Ushuaia after breakfast and head to the airport, or to your hotel if you are staying longer to explore this beautiful town at the end of the earth.

This is a small group, set departure on board the Hebridean Sky, a small ship that was completely refitted in spring 2016. Note that all prices are excluding international flights.
