Today you will arrive in the world’s most southerly city, located between the Beagle Channel and the snow-capped Martial Range, this remote city offers stunning natural beauty and a gateway to Antarctica.
The best time to visit Antarctica is during the the austral summer and Antarctic travel season run from mid-October through to March. Outside these times, it is not possible to travel to Antarctica. Weather, sea conditions, sunlight and wildlife sightings vary greatly as the continent’s climate can change from minute to minute, a true wilderness.

Your adventure begins with a 400 mile crossing of the passage that bears the name of the 16th century English explorer Sir Francis Drake. Take in daily lectures from your expedition team and keep an eye out for the first sightings of icebergs, whales and albatross.
Following in the footprints of explorers such as Shackleton and Scott, you can experience incredible wildlife in Antarctica, which seems surprising on first glance in this land of superlatives – the coldest, windiest and driest location on Earth.
Experience some of the most unique wildlife viewing and inspiring scenery in the world as you set foot on the Antarctic continent. Attempt two shore landings per day and encounter gentoo, chinstrap and Adélie penguin rookeries, Weddell, crabeater and leopard seals.
