Your favourite travel destination and animal. My favourite travel destination that I have been do would probably be Colorado and my favourite animal ever since I was young is an anteater!
What is your first travel-related memory? My first travel memory is going with my parents to California with my parents walking through the giant redwood forests. It was beautiful and awe-inspiring at the same time!
What is your most memorable wildlife encounter? My most memorable wildlife encounter would have to be seeing a black bear in the Aspen forests in Colorado whilst trekking on horseback. We were in the middle of a wildflower field and our guide was showing us bear tracks at the same time!
If you could do just one NWS safari, which one would it be and why? I would definitely want to travel on one of the Madagascar lemur safaris as I think it would be amazing to visit the island and see such a great diversity of life.
What do you like doing outside of NWS? Outside of NWS, I have just finished my degree in Advertising and Marketing however in my spare time I enjoy painting and drawing. Whilst I'm saving up to travel I do enjoy visiting nature parks to get inspiration for the wildlife I write about
Why do you travel? I travel to see things that you wouldn’t see every day. Seeing amazing places in books and TV always triggers my imagination and immersing myself in new places full of discovery is very exciting to me.
How many countries and continents have you visited? 8 countries and 3 continents
Do you have any travel habits or rituals? I always pick a souvenir wherever I travel to somewhere new! I usually go for a shot glass or a mug, but postcards and stickers for my laptop are a must as well! I also used to collect shells and crystals so if I’m travelling to a place known for beaches or rocks, I will always grab some!
What is your favourite souvenir from your travels? My grandad was a wildlife photographer and always travelled on different safaris across the world. Although not from my own travels, my favourite souvenir he collected and gave to me is a zebra skin-covered drum from Africa which he brought back many years ago. It sounds amazing and it is very exciting to have such an authentic item.
What's the strangest place that you've visited? One of the strangest places I’ve visited was definitely Bermuda! Thankfully we didn’t get caught in the triangle, however, the whole experience just felt quite surreal due to the mix of caves and beaches!
If you were going on a round-the-world trip and could invite anyone from history, living or dead, who would they be and why? Definitely my grandad, he had such wide knowledge of travel and wildlife it is what inspired me and developed my passion since I was young. We would always debate over whether this one monkey was a baboon or a mandrill!
