Eve Warner

Marketing Assistant

My role as a Marketing Assistant within the NWS team, has enabled me to merge my passion for digital marketing with my love of the natural worlds. I enjoy the ability to contribute to expanding the worlds understanding of conservation and responsible tourism.

My favourite travel destination is an island of Mexico called Isla Holbox. My favourite animal has always been dogs, however my close second are polar bears and dolphins.

What is your first travel-related memory?

My first travel related memory would be going to Corsica as a baby, and stealing the neighbours dog for the week. Or dancing through the streets of Santorini with my cousins, changing dancing styles depending on the genre of music the cocktail bars would play.

What is your most memorable wildlife encounter?

My most memorable wildlife encounter would be catching barracuda for ceviche on the coast of Mexico, or flipping over a stuck horseshoe crab.

If you could do just one NWS safari, which one would it be and why?

Currently if I could join one NWS safari it would have to be the trip to Svalbard. After reading the book Dark Matter by Michelle Paver, I have been fascinated by the landscape discovered in the book and by the freezing cold temperatures. Also seeing the polar bears and whales must be pretty amazing.

What do you like doing outside of NWS?

Outside of NWS I am an avid cold-ish water swimmer, and I enjoy regular hikes with my little friend Kimmi (The French bulldog)

Why do you travel?

I love to travel to experience different cultures, eat better food and explore the beauty that other countries hold. There is only so much West Pier I can admire before the Mediterranean sea calls to me.

How many countries and continents have you visited?

I have travelled to 2 continents and I have been to 5 different countries.

What is your favourite souvenir from your travels?

I collect mugs from every country/city I travel!

Do you have any travel habits or rituals?

I and whoever is with me must touch the outside of the plane before we leave.

What is the best travel advice you have received?

Never forget to buy travel insurance , you never know when you may fall over!

What's the farthest away from "civilisation" that you've been?

Being on a tiny fishing boat with my father in the middle of the gulf of Mexico, with only white sand banks in sight.
