Isfjord Radio is a former satellite communication station between Norway and Svalbard which has been converted into a unique boutique hotel. Here you can experience the true wilderness of Svalbard in a place very few will have the opportunity to experience.

Style

A luxurious hotel with an intimate atmosphere; filled with history.

Setting

90km West of Longyearbyen, reachable only via snowmobile or dog sled in the winter season or by open boat in the summer.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are 23 rooms available here which can accommodate up to 49 guests. Most of the rooms are twins and doubles all with fantastic panoramas across the Arctic landscape; you may even be lucky enough to spot some arctic wildlife from the comfort of your room! The bathrooms are communal.

Dining

During your stay at the Isfjord Radio all of meals are included; the experienced chef will often lay down an exotic 3 course dinner of Norwegian specialities, and a hearty breakfast gets you prepared for the day’s explorations. Lunch is also available either at the hotel itself or you can order a packed lunch to take with you into the wilderness.

Activities

During your stay at Isfjord Radio you can do as much (or as little) as you wish. There are ample opportunities to explore the awe-inspiring wilderness that surrounds you including dog sledding and snowmobile trips. Previously there have been sightings of walruses, whales and arctic birds within close vicinity of the hotel.
