Sat on the banks of a 28 mile long, spring fed lagoon, Lamanai Outpost Lodge is a calm, natural and wild place to spend time whilst in Belize. Without the need for day tours or trips, you can embark on the adventure of a lifetime, straight from your cabana.

There are just 20 cabanas for guests and all trips are limited to between 6 and 10, enhancing your jungle experience for a more personal and ‘in touch with nature’ feel.

Setting

Overlooking the New River Lagoon, Lamanai Outpost Lodge is on the Orange Walk District, northwest of Belize City. Perched on the top of a hill, the lodge has a spectacular location far away from the other hotels and lodges in the area.

Accommodation & Facilities

The rustic cabanas provide everything you need for comfort under their tropical palm thatched roofs. Made from local woods, they fit in naturally with their surroundings and have a peaceful, cosy atmosphere, disturbed only by the calls of the jungle. All rooms are en-suite with hot running water, ceiling fans and 24 hours of electricity a day. The private verandas have wonderful views over the tropical gardens and the lagoon.

“Busy Place” is the open air bar and restaurant where the few guests gather in the evenings over a cool drink to discuss the days antics.

Dining

Meals are delicious, homely and filling, serving hearty food.

Activities

Your stay is usually booked as a package where 2 standard activities per day will be included. You can add on specialised activities as well if you so wish.

Standard activities include; Jungle Dawn – explore the jungle as the sun rises in search of wildlife, Sunrise Canoe Expedition – a relaxing morning adventure down Dawson’s Creek and its tributaries and Lamanai Maya Cruise – venturing through the ancient and mysterious ruins. Guests can also follow the Maya Medicine Trail, join a sunset cocktail cruise, take part in a nature walk (day and night) or join a spotlight nature safari via riverboat.

Specialised Adventures include Native Fishing – catch you own bait before fishing jungle style, a Howler Monkey trek, sunset airboat safari and a crocodile encounter. As well as this you could book night spear fishing and birding expeditions.
