Journey through the national parks of India and Sri Lanka in search of Asiatic leopards and other wildlife, staying in luxury tented camps and lodges out in the wilderness. You will also spend time exploring the bustling markets of Old Delhi and the tranquil tea plantations of the Sri Lankan hill country.
An adventurous safari across the Indian subcontinent; seek out the regions big cats while staying in comfortable camps and jungle lodges. Starting off in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh you will discover two of India’s lesser-known national parks, Pench and Satpura, on game drives and walking safaris in search of leopards, tigers and other wildlife. Spend a day exploring the narrow streets and bustling markets of Old Delhi, before travelling to Sri Lanka and Yala National Park, home to the highest population density of leopards in the world. Finish off your safari with some relaxation in the tranquil tea plantations of the hill country.
Today you will arrive into the busy city of Mumbai, where you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in the city. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and adjust to the Indian pace of life.
This morning you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight to Nagpur where, upon arrival, you will be driven to Pench National Park (approximately three hours) in the heart of Madhya Pradesh. Centred around the Pench Reservoir in the southern Satpura Hills, the national park covers an area of 760km² and is home to tigers, leopards, wild dogs, sloth bears and more.

You will spend the next few days exploring Pench National Park, one of India's lesser-known wildlife reserves away from the beaten tourist path. Head out on early morning and late afternoon game drives in the park, returning to your camp during the midday heat for lunch and relaxation. The park is home to numerous species of deer and antelope, including chital, sambar and nilgai deer, which provide food for the tigers, leopards and other predators in the region.

Enjoy your final game drive in the national park this morning before being transferred to Satpura National Park (approximately six hours driving). Established in 1981, Satpura National Park encompasses a 1,427km² area of unique Central Indian Highland ecosystem, with deep valleys, rugged mountains and several waterfalls. On your arrival at your lodge, the rest of the day is yours to relax or go on a nature walk in the surrounding area.

The next two days are spent exploring this naturally beautiful park on game drives and walking safaris. The park provides habitat for over 1,300 species of plants, as well as 254 bird, 30 reptile and 50 mammal species including tigers, wild dogs, sloth bears and leopards.

After your final game drive in the park this morning you will be transferred to Bhopal, where you will catch an onward flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be met and escorted to your hotel in the city, where the rest of the day is at leisure.

You will spend your penultimate day in India exploring the sites of this bustling capital city. Wander the narrow, twisting lanes of Old Delhi, exploring the bazaars and the Red Fort, the Jama Masjid with its towering minarets and domes, and the busy market at Chandni Chowk. Lying in stark contrast are the wide boulevards and formal parks of New Delhi, where you will visit the Qutab Minar and Humanyun's Tomb, considered the architectural forerunner to the Taj Mahal.

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. Upon arrival you will be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel, located within a peaceful garden setting a short drive from the city.

After breakfast at your hotel you will be driven (approximately seven hours) to Yala National Park, where you will check in to your tented camp. You will be introduced to your guides and taken for lunch in the bush before, if you wish, heading out for your first game drive in the park.

Yala National Park has the highest population density of leopards in the world, and you will spend your time here on early morning and late afternoon game drives in the park in search of these majestic big cats. In addition to the parks most famous residents, Yala is also home to Asian elephants, crocodiles and over 230 bird species.

Enjoy your final game drive in the park this morning before continuing on to Weerawila Reservoir to catch your amphibious aircraft flight to Dickoya, located in the heart of Sri Lanka's hill country. From here it is just a short drive to your luxurious tea planters bungalow. The remainder of the day is yours to relax at your bungalow or explore the verdant tea plantations on foot or by bike.

Spend a relaxed day exploring the tea plantations around Dickoya, heading out on foot or renting a bicycle from your hotel. You can also pay a visit to the local tea factory to learn how Sri Lanka's world-famous tea is produced, or simply relax and enjoy the stunning scenery.

Today you will be transferred out of the hills to Makandura, a rural region with numerous wildlife walking trails to explore at your leisure. The drive will take around four to five hours. On arrival at your lodge, the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Today marks your final day in Sri Lanka; transfer to the airport for your international flight home. Alternatively, you could also extend your safari with time on the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka's southern coat.
