Plan your India Safari

India. The land of temples and tigers. A destination that conjures up sights, sounds and smells of the exotic continent. A destination traditionally known for its cultural side, at Natural World Safaris we specialist in combining both the wildlife and the culture to provide a truly engaging Indian safari holiday.

From a wildlife perspective the King of the Jungle – the Bengal Tiger – is obviously the most obvious and biggest draw, but don’t let that distract you from the other highlights. The Asiatic lions of Sasan Gir form the only remaining population of lions on the Indian continent, the snow leopards of the foothills of the Himalayas provide for a truly immersive wildlife and cultural experience whilst staying in the temples and homestays or both. Why not walk the village trails whilst staying at Leti 360 and Shakti, meeting villagers along the way and taking in the slow pace of the mountain life.

Leaving wildlife to the side for the moment, the cultural side of India is second to none, the pink city of Jaipur, the blue city of Jodhpur, the renowned Taj Mahal, all of this blends to form a truly exhilarating holiday to India.

For the best places to stay India offers you truly one of the most diverse array of palaces, forts, homestays, camps, lodges and more. We have no specific allegiance to any property chain, we tailor your trip and your lodging to meet with your specific requirements. Some of our favourites include Sujan Jawai a most sumptuous property for tracking the Asiatic leopard, Banjaar Tola Lodge a refuge for tiger tracking in Kanha National Park, or Samode Haveli a luxury property located within the old walled city of Jaipur.

When to go to India depends on what you want to see and do. But to keep it simple, if it is tigers you are after then October to April provide your best moths with the months of January to April being peak sightings, with January to March is also being optimal for snow leopard trips. All of these times of the year can be tailored to fit in with cultural highlights as well. Please just bear in mind that from April onwards monsoon season is on the horizon and temperatures start to climb.

Our bespoke safaris to India are tailor-made for your requirements. The below trips are purely examples of what we can do, but we recommend getting in touch to speak with one of our India Destination Specialists so we can tailor a speciifc trip that fits into your individual requirements.
