About Waterberry Zambezi Lodge, Livingstone

About Waterberry Zambezi Lodge, Livingstone

Secluded on the banks of the Zambezi River, Waterberry Zambezi Lodge (usually just referred to a Waterberry Lodge) is close to Livingstone, but it feels like you are far from anything. In easy reach of neighbouring Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia, this is a pretty lodge, peaceful and serene making it perfect for some relaxation at the start or end of your African adventure.

About a 45 minute drive from Victoria Falls, this is a great spot to get away from it all and avoid the noise that comes with being close to the Falls, yet be close enough to enjoy the area's activities, from micro lighting to canoe safaris along the river.

Lodge Details

Style

An intimate mid-range, informal lodge with comfortable thatched accommodation dotted around the property.

Setting

Within some beautifully landscaped gardens, Waterberry Lodge is about a 45 minute drive upstream from Victoria Falls, a 30 minute drive from Livingstone Airport.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are just 7 thatch and brick cottages, some of which overlook their very own private dam. Rooms are all en-suite and most have private decks for some relaxation in the sun, birding or private dinners. Bedrooms can be twin, double or family sized, each named after a bird that frequents the areas, including Owl, Swallow and Weaver.

The main area is over two floors, with a big lounge and bar on the top floor and a dining area on the lower floor. There is also a wonderful garden and shared terrace, as well as a good sized swimming pool with sun loungers.

Dining

The food is good, but not overly fancy. Special arrangements can be made if you are going to be out doing activities all day, such as packed lunches and breakfasts, and dinner is usually three courses. Between meal times, there is a tea and coffee station, including biscuits, to keep the hunger at bay.

Activities

Activities include visits to the famous Victoria Falls, Zambezi River cruises and fishing. You can also enjoy birding, village walks, a visit to Livingstone and photography workshops. You can also book activities at Victoria Falls through the lodge.

Child Policy

Children are welcome at Waterberry Lodge.
