Tsarabanjina Lodge
Tsarabanjina Lodge offers the perfect private island honeymoon getaway. Thatched bungalows with private terrace and views out to sea.
Over the years Madagascar has received a lot of attention for not having the best lodges out there when compared to mainland Africa. Traditionally a much less visited destination due to the lack of big game, Madagascar actually has a huge amount to offer and even more so now that the lodges and accommodation are improving.
A Relais and Chateaux property located on the west – north west coast of Madagascar accessed only by private plane. Anjajavy is ideal for 3 or 4 days of relaxation at the start or end of your safari; being located in its own private nature reserve it means that you can pick and chose what you want from exploring the reserve and watching the sifakas as they bounce across the lawns, to relaxing by the pool or visiting the local villages.
Less well known than Anjajavy, Princesse Bora Lodge offers the visitor a unique choice for relaxation and adventure. Located on the island of Ile Sainte Marie, this is the perfect spot to be located during the months of July – September when the whales are migrating southwards along the coast of Madagascar. Take the opportunity to set out with the Megapetra whale research teams to assist them with data collection or even tag the whales themselves!
One of our personal favourites and one where our MD learnt to scuba dive! Tsarabanjina is a perfect private island hideaway and ideal for honeymooners. White sand beaches, rustic chic luxury beach cottages, a sand floor bar and some great diving out at manta point!
A beautiful property set amidst the rocky wind-scaped outcrops of Isalo National Park. With great food, horse riding and a pool to cool off in during the day, Relais de la Reine is one of the best places to stay in the area. Alongside this property you have the sister property of Jardin du Roy which is equally as good – if not better!
No visit to Madagascar is complete without visiting the lovely Andasibe Reserve. Home to the largest of all remaining living lemurs, the remarkable Indri. Wake up in the morning and listen to their calls through the mist shrouded forests of Andasibe, track them on foot through the forests as they make their way through the treetops and then return to the comfort and warmth of the lovely Vakona Lodge
