About Tortilis Camp, Amboseli National Park

Located in Amboseli National Park, the wonderful Tortilis Camp is an excellent place to see wild African elephants. Featuring spacious tents, all with elegant en-suite bathrooms, the camp was designed and built by Stefano Cheli in 1993 as the first eco-lodge in Kenya.

This is where to stay when you really want to get to know the park, see the wildife and make the most of the 80 years of combined guiding experience.

The guides are fascinating and know the national park like the back of your hand.

A luxurious and spacious camp with beautiful tents, and a private house.

Setting

Amboseli National Park is home over 1000 elephants, and the camp is in the perfect position to explore, with astounding mountain views.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are sixteen beautiful tents, each with mountain views, an en-suite bathroom, and spacious veranda. You can have twins or duble beds and an extra bed can be avilable to fit under 16's. There is also a family tent with a double room and a twin room, both with private verandas,and a shared veranda.

The Private House has a double room and a twin, both en-suite, a large dining room with a veranda and a swimming pool whih is shared with the family tent.

Dining

The camps own vegetable garden provides delicious salads and vegetables for each meal. Cuisine is generally Italin, with homemade pastas and beads. The dining area overlooks Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy lovely breakfasts, delectable lunches, delicious afternoon tea and cakes, canapes before dinner, and of course, wonderful meals to finish the day.

Activities

There is a huge range of activities at the camp, from game drives, guided walks, and swimming, to bush breakfasts and sundowners, spa treatments, and cultural visits.

Interested guests are welcome to join in with the Rekero Trust Projects; this includes daily computer training for local communities at the Rekero Trust classroom.

Child Policy

Children are welcome, an there is a family tent available.
