This trip is well suited to families with younger kids. Children will be taught by the local Masai to use bows and arrows, bead making, and how to make a fire.

Day 1: Arrive Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by one of our representatives who will drive you to your accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to relax after your flight.

Day 2: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta

You will be met at Nairobi International Airport and transferred to Nairobi Wilson airport in time for your internal flight to the Laikipia Plateau. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your lodge in the Ol Pejeta conservancy.

Days 3 - 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is renowned for its sightings of black rhino, elephants, lion, cheetah, grazing herds, leopards and is an excellent place for you and your family to spend on safari. Explore the wilderness by morning, evening and night game drives and game walks.

Day 5: Laikipia Plateau - Masai Mara

After breakfast, you will be picked up from Ol Pejeta Safari Cottages and game driven to the airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to Mara North Conservancy where you'll enjoy your first evening activity in this wildlife-rich area.

Days 6 - 7: Mara North Conservancy

Enjoy your days exploring this wonderful part of the Mara North Conservancy on shared game drives with your professional guide. Because you are staying in one of the Conservancies, night drives and walking safaris are also available.

Day 8: Masai Mara - Zanzibar

Enjoy your days exploring this wonderful part of the Mara North Conservancy on shared game drives with your professional guide. Because you are staying in one of the Conservancies, night drives and walking safaris are also available.

Days 9 - 11: Exploring Zanzibar

Take this time to relax on the spice island of Zanzibar. Its rich history, culture and marine life ensure there is plenty to do including snorkelling, sailing out to the local reef, kayaking, village visits, spice tours, visits to Stone Town or the red-colobus monkey colony in Jozani Forest.

Day 12: Depart Zanzibar

Today, at a time to be advised locally, you will be collected for your private transfer to Zanzibar International Airport. On arrival at the airport, you will be assisted to check in for your onward flight home. Please note that check out from the hotel is in the morning.

Travel throughout August and September to witness the great migration in the Masai Mara as part of your itinerary.

Rolling savannah hills cut through dark green riverine forest areas, making this the perfect habitat for a whole host of wildlife, and the rich grasslands support the herds. Their arrival means a time of plenty for the big cats, and you are almost guaranteed some action.
