Fly into the stunning scenery of Samburu, the mountainous backdrop against the riverine forest and golden grasses won’tfail to make you fall in love with this lesser visited National Reserve. Home to the ‘Samburu Special Five’ - the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx, you’ll experience wildlife encounters you can’t find elsewhere. Day 1, Arrive Nairobi

You’ll be met off your flight and transferred to your farmhouse retreat in a peaceful suburb of outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. Sink into your four-poster bed to rest, ready for your adventures to begin the next day.

Day 2, Nairobi – Samburu National Park

Take an early morning flight from Nairobi to Samburu National Park, home to the Samburu Special Five, as well as large herds of elephant, leopard, lion and cheetah. You’ll be picked up and taken to your peaceful camp, home for the next three nights.

Days 3 - 4, Exploring Sarara

As well as unlimited game drives, you can walk or even run with the Samburu tribespeople. Learn Samburu beading or blacksmithing skills or take a thrilling horse-riding safari. A visit to Reteti elephant sanctuary is a must, meet the playful orphaned elephants and learn about their rehabilitation to be released back into the wild.

Day 5, Samburu National Park – Mara North Conservancy

Today you’ll wave goodbye to your Samburu hosts and fly down to the Mara where you’ll be staying in an intimate camp with just four tents, complete with bathtubs on the decking with views over the Mara River.

Days 6 - 7, Exploring Ngare Serian

It will be just the two of you on game drives, alongside your guide who’ll help you find a multitude of species, from big cats, to elephant, vultures, giraffe, impala and eland among others.

Day 8, Overnight in ‘The Nest’

Day 9, Mara North Conservancy – Zanzibar

Today, you’ll have to tear yourselves away from the rolling grasslands of Mara North, but you’ll be rewarded when you arrive at your domed pavilion on Zanzibar. Slip into your private plunge pool with a sundowner.

Days 10 - 12, Exploring Kilindi Zanzibar

With an ‘open to nature’ approach you’ll enjoy the tropical breezes drifting through your bedroom. You’ll have a dedicated butler to set up dining options in scenic spots, arrange rejuvenating spa treatments or recommend island excursions.

Day 13, Depart Zanzibar

Today its time to say farewell to your idyllic beach resort, you’ll be transferred to Zanzibar airport for your international flight home.

Travel throughout August and September to witness the great migration in the Masai Mara as part of your itinerary.
