Setting
A 5 minute cycle, or a 20 minute walk, from San Pedro de Atacama, Tierra Atacama is a 2 hour domestic flight from Santiago to Calama, then a 1 hour drive. Private charter is also available.
Accommodation & Facilities
All the rooms here feature private terraces and stunning views of the Licancabur volcano and feature elegant minimalist style interiors. Peppered with handmade crafts from the local villages, each room has an authentic feel and unique touches to make you feel at home. There are 3 room types to choose from. Orient offers a romantic ambience for guests, with sublime spaces for two and include Wi-Fi, an outdoor shower, hair dryer and a safe, and you don’t need to worry about getting too hot or too cold, with air-conditioning, central heating and a ceiling fan to keep you at your perfect temperature. Poniente rooms offer a little more space, with an additional bath tub and the family rooms sleep up to six guests, with an en-suite master bedroom upstairs, then two bedrooms with their own bathroom down stairs.
The whole hotel has been designed by professionals to preserve local influences, yet keep it modern and comfortable for guests. There is a living room, library and bar, as well as beautifully landscaped gardens and a communal terrace, each made to ensure your comfort at all times. The indoor and outdoor pool means you can take a dip, whatever the outdoor conditions.

Dining
The chef creates some delicious menus using fresh, local ingredients. Traditional Chilean and Andean dishes are featured alongside international cuisine and very nice Chilean wines. Vegetarian dishes are easily available on request.
Activities
A range of excursions can be organised from the hotel, ranging in difficulty and time. Head out to the Altiplanico Lagoons (Miscanti & Meniques) in a 4x4 for a stunning journey, then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, a small way of giving back to the community. Take a day to venture to Salar de Tara where you’ll spot salt lakes and bird life as well as areas of marshland before getting there. You can also head to the Tatio Geisers or Puritama Hot Springs, a truly unique experience. There is also the option of visiting the small village of Machuca, exploring the lunar landscapes of Moon Valley or witnessing the Atacama Salt Flats (Chaxa Lagoon and Flamingo Reserve).
