Villa Bahia beautifully reflects the past of the Portuguese explorers and their exchanges with Africa and Asia; each room is named after a destination on the spice route and the décor intertwines influence from related countries. The traditional colonial style is given a tropical twist, white washed walls are contrasted with bright and colourful features and palm trees overhang the patios and pool.

There are fantastic social areas to relax with a cocktail, take a splash in the plunge pool, laze around in one of many hammocks or simply enjoy the views of the surrounding colourful houses of the historic Pelourinho District.

In the heart of the Pelourinho District, close to baroque churches, museums and handicraft shops, and close to the beaches of Salvador.

Accommodation & Facilities

The 17 rooms are over 3 floors, featuring clean and natural rooms, with enticing splashes of tropical colour, reflecting a specific period in Bahia’s history. Rooms are between 28m² and 40 m², featuring high ceilings, four poster beds and wooden floors, rooms on the top floor each have their own private terrace. All rooms have air conditioning, a TV, DVD player and a safe, as well as Wi-Fi and a hairdryer and there is parking nearby.

There are 2 exquisite patios; you will find the pool in one surrounded by comfy sun loungers and the second features a more botanical atmosphere.

There is also a wonderful restaurant and a bar, offering world class cuisine and some of the best coffee you will find!

Dining

A beautiful restaurant serving contemporary cuisine made from local ingredients, adapted to use French techniques. Breakfast may be enjoyed in the restaurant, or outside in the tropical courtyard and make sure you enjoy some of their fine coffee!

Activities

Explore the colourful houses, baroque churches, museums, cobbled streets and handicraft shops of the Pelourinho District. There are plenty of beaches that you can arrange to access, such as Porto da Barra, where you will find calm turquoise waters, great for a dip or Ondina and Pituba, where the waves are great for surfing.

Carnival is usually towards the end of February, however the date changes every year. At the time, the streets are filled with the sounds of voices and music, bright colours surround you and you cant help but dance through the streets. If you are planning your trip around this time, ensure you book early as hotels get very busy, and due to the sound insulation at this hotel, it is a fantastic place to stay!
