Arctic Circle Seaplane Adventure

A private seaplane adventure taking you to places roads do not reach, and to wilderness far from civilisation, exploring the heart of Swedish Lapland, the Lofoten Islands, the North Cape, into Finland and onto Tromso. Think a mix of enormous fjords, glacial valleys, picturesque villages, the Sami people with their reindeer herds, fishing, hiking, canoeing, boat trips on rivers and along the Norwegian coast, and reaching the northernmost point of continental Europe. This is an unforgettable adventure.

What to expect?

Exploring the Lofoten Islands by Seaplane

After a morning hike and lunch in the mountains, we continue by seaplane over the Norwegian mountains and fjords towards the Lofoten Islands. Over the next two days, we have the opportunity to explore the archipelago by boat, including Trollfjord, one of the most stunning places on the islands. Local birdlife such as cormorants, eiders and white-tailed eagles can all be spotted. We will also fly from the lodge over the fjords and impressive glacier valleys to Hamnoy in the south. We'll have time to explore some of the fishing villages of Reine, Nusfjord or Sakrisoy as well as white sandy beaches and a hike to the Ryten mountain.

Fishing Adventures on Senja Island

Board the seaplane and fly over the Vesteralen Archipelago, landing on Senja Island, one of the best places in Norway for fishing. We will head out on a private boat to do some fishing, followed by lunch prepared from your catch! This afternoon, we fly from Senya to Altafjord and stay in the lodge built in the boreal forest.

Journey to the North Cape and Arctic Coast

Toake a seaplane flight over the Arctic Coast and visit the North Cape. From the air, you will see old fishing villages frozen in time, and with a little bit of luck, hundreds of reindeers grazing in the mountains and valleys. Landing in Mageroya Island, a private car will be waiting to drive the scenic route to the North Cape, the northernmost point of continental Europe. Back in Alta, we have the chance to hike a mountain which has stunning views of Altafjord and the surrounding area, before relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi and sauna.

River Safari and Lake Kilpisjärvi in Finnish Lapland

Head out on a river boat safari on the Alta River, one of the most famous salmon fishing rivers in Europe. Dense forests, river wildlife and waterfalls dominate the views on all sides. Next we jump on the seaplane to the Finnish border and Lake Kilpisjärvi, situated at the point where Sweden, Norway and Finland meet. We have an 'Arctic Brunch' on the lake before flying onto Tromso. There is time this afternoon for you to wander this lovely town on your own, or visit the Polar Museum, before dinner in one of the best restaurants in town.
