An eye-opening trip through stunning Zimbabwe taking in the majestic Victoria Falls and the historically renowned parks of Hwange and Matobo Hills. With a mixture of wildlife sightings and bushmen cave paintings you are privileged to get an insight into the past histories of this country.
On your arrival into Victoria Falls you will be met by one of our representatives who will transfer you to the lodge. A chance to relax and take in your surroundings before setting out to enjoy the Victoria Falls.
Overnight: Ilala Lodge
You have two full days to enjoy all that Victoria Falls has to offer; and the area offers a lot. Visiting these spectacular falls themselves is a must, and Ilala Lodge is right opposite the entrance. The power of the falls varies according to the time of year; May is a fantastic time of the year to see the falls in their full flow and so is a magical experience with a mile of falling water. Other activities include helicopter and micro light flights over the falls, bungee jumping, white water rafting, gorge swings and so much more! These can all be arranged and paid for locally.
Overnight: Ilala Lodge (B)
You’ll be met at Ilala Lodge today and transferred by road south through the teak forest to a private concession just outside of Hwange National Park. This 6,000 acre reserve is the key home range of the Presidential Elephant herd, made famous in the 1980’s by Alan Elliot. Depending on your time of arrival you may have a chance for your first game drive in Zimbabwe!
Ivory Lodge is situated on its own private concession which is home to lion, leopard, wild dog and big herds of elephants. Game drives are done on their reserve or sometimes into the main Hwange National Park. Hwange is a world famous reserve particularly known for its large herds of elephants. Other wildlife includes sable antelope, eland, roan, rhino, wild dog, lion, leopard, cheetah and some fairly large herds of buffalo. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and glorious drives under the African setting sun, you can also visit the Painted Dog Conservancy and village tours. Walking safaris and game counts are available on request.
After breakfast you will do a game drive through the park to the lovely Somalisa Camp, set in its own concession inside the Hwange National Park. This afternoon enjoy a guided game drive in a different area of the reserve.

Enjoy game drives and guided walks with highly qualified guides. It is also possible to head out on a night drive which then gives you a better chance to see some of the nocturnal wildlife that soon appears. Things like spring hares, porcupines, genets, civets, bat eared foxes and hyenas are often seen and then lion and leopard become more active, making for an exciting wildlife experience.
Overnight: Somalisa Camp (B, L, D)
From Hwange you will transfer to the second largest town in Zimbabwe, Bulawayo before heading to the Matobo Hills National Park. Matobo Hills are the home of bushman paintings and rock art, white rhino, and mountains that seem to be made from boulders perched on top of each other as if put there by giants playing a balancing game.

The game viewing here is incredible, and you can head to Whovi Game Park, a protected sanctuary for black and white rhino, where you can track these huge beast in a vehicle and on foot. Other wildlife you can see includes leopard and a huge array of birds. It’s not just game viewing here, you can go mountain biking, visit a nearby village and school or go bird watching.

Today you say your goodbyes to Zimbabwe and will be driven back to Bulawayo in time for your international flight home.
