Botswana and Zambia: Wildlife and Waterfalls

A fantastic wildlife-focused safari taking in some of the highlights of Botswana, including packs of painted dogs at Kwando Reserve and the wetlands of the Okavango Delta, as well as the magnificent Victoria Falls on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River.

Taking in the highlights of Botswana and enjoying the thunderous Victoria Falls, this safari maximises your chances of seeing as much as possible during your trip. Starting from the comfort of the idyllic Sindabezi Island, enjoy the falls and take part in the many activities available here before heading into Botswana to experience the wide range of wildlife at Kwando Reserve, one of the best areas to see lion, cheetah, leopard and painted dogs. Finish in the Okavango Delta where you can enjoy 4x4 game drives with a guide and tracker, night drives and walking safaris. This safari gives you a true taste of this inspirational region.

Day 1

Arrive in Livingstone

You will be met upon arrival at Livingstone Airport and transferred by road and boat to Sindabezi Island, from which you can experience the magnificent Victoria Falls and the mighty Zambezi. On arrival at Sindabezi you will be met and shown around the lodge, before being shown to your chalet.

Days 2-3

Activities around Victoria Falls

Known also by its indigenous name of Mosi-oa-Tunya, "the smoke that thunders", Victoria Falls is classified as the largest waterfall in the world, with a width of 1.25 miles. A visit to the falls is a highlight of anyone's safari in southern Africa and the area is a hub for both water- and land-based activities. Visit the breathtaking falls on foot, or for an aerial view, why not try a helicopter flight over the famous natural landmark. Alternatives include white water rafting, a visit to the national park and a sunset cruise, to name a few! Most activities can be booked upon arrival, however it is advised to book helicopter flights in advance. When not exploring the area, kick back at your accommodation.

Day 4

Livingstone - Kwando

Today, at a time to be advised locally, you will be collected from Sindabezi and transferred to Livingstone Airport in time for your light aircraft flight to Kasane, Botswana. On arrival into Kasane you will be met and assisted with your onward light aircraft flight to the Kwando Airstrip. On landing you will be met by your guide and game driven to Lagoon Camp where you will be introduced to the camp before being shown to your room.

Day 5

On safari at Kwando Lagoon

You will be able to enjoy twice-daily safari experiences during your stay at Kwando Lagoon. Choose from 4x4 game drives with a guide and tracker, night drives, walking safaris, fishing (not during January and February due to government regulations) and boat cruises. Should you wish for complete flexibility and a more private experience we recommend asking your Destination Specialist about the possibility of booking a private guide and vehicle.

Overnight: Kwando Lagoon Camp (B, L, D)

Day 6

Lagoon - Lebala

Today, at a time to be advised locally, you will be transferred by way of a game drive from Kwando Lagoon to Kwando Lebala. The duration of the game drive will depend on what wildlife you encounter along the way. On arrival at Lebala you will be met and shown around the camp before being shown to your tent.

Day 7

On safari at Kwando Lebala

You will be able to enjoy twice-daily safari experiences during your stay at Kwando Lebala. Choose from 4x4 game drives with a guide and tracker, night drives, walking safaris and fishing (not during January and February due to government regulations). Should you wish for complete flexibility and a more private experience we recommend asking your Destination Specialist about the possibility of booking a private guide and vehicle.

Day 8

Linyanti - Okavango Delta

Today, at a time to be advised locally, you will be game driven to the Lebala Airstrip in time for your light aircraft flight to the Kwara Airstrip in the Okavango Delta. On landing in the Delta you will be met by your guide and game-driven to Kwando Kwara Camp. On arrival you will be met and introduced to the lodge before being shown to your room.

Days 9-10

On safari at Kwando

You will be able to enjoy twice-daily safari experiences during your stay in the Kwando Concession. Choose from 4x4 game drives with a guide and tracker, night drives, walking safaris and fishing (not during January and February due to government regulations). Should you wish for complete flexibility and a more private experience we recommend asking your Destination Specialist about the possibility of booking a private guide and vehicle.

Overnight: Kwando Kwara Camp (B, L, D)

Day 11

Okavango Delta - Maun - Depart Maun

Today, at a time to be advised locally, you will be driven to the Kwara Airstrip in time for your light aircraft flight to Maun. On arrival into Maun you will be met and assisted to your onward international flight.
