45 Kilometres south of its sister lodge, Wolwedans Dune Lodge, Wolwedans Boulders Camp is in a very remote location within the NamibRand Reserve.
Accommodation & Facilities
Each of the rooms is spacious with a four-poster bed, mosquito net and bedside table. The bathrooms are private, not en-suite, but just a few metres away, and have big showers, flush toilets and double basins, they even have Moroccan lanterns, bathrobes and stunning views. The main area is made from a dining tent and a lounge tent, lavishly filled with plush cushions and comfy furnishings, and built on a large wooden deck, on which you will find a fireplace. The kitchen is set between the two tents.
Meals are quite a sumptuous affair, you will usually have breakfast outdoors by the fire in the morning, other meals are either indoor our outdoor. There is also a designated sundowner spot which makes the absolute most out of the spectacular NamibRand Reserve.
The NamibRand Reserve is not primarily a wildlife destination, however, it is home to lots of characteristic creatures, from gemsbok, springbok and kudu, to klipspringer, steenbok and Burchell’s zebra. If you are very lucky, it is possible to spot leopard as well as brown and spotted hyena, cape fox, black-backed jackal or even an aardwolf. You are in the perfect spot here to explore this fascinating area of the deep south, embark on guided nature drives, enjoy walking safaris or follow in the footsteps of the San Bushmen in their ancient hunting grounds. You can book hot-air ballooning and scenic flights at the camp.
