About Ongava Tented Camp

Within the 30,000 hectare, privately owned, Ongava Reserve, Ongava Tented Camp is located on the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. This small and unfenced camp is nestled into mopane woodland, overlooking a waterhole which attracts a plethora of wildlife.

Accommodating just 16 guests at a time, it has a real bush camp feel, similar to camps found in countries like Botswana.

Setting

At the foot of a small hill on the Ongava Reserve, bordering Etosha National Park.

Accommodation & Activities

The Meru-style tents are large and spacious, raised on a wooden deck which extends out into a big veranda complete with directors chairs. Inside they are fully furnished and very comfortable, with an en-suite bathroom that has a hot shower (outdoors but private), flush toilet and a range of toiletries.

The main thatch area has a bar, lounge and dining room that overlooks the waterhole, there is also a swimming pool and communal veranda. The camp fire in surrounded by directors chairs, a wonderful place to discuss the days adventures with your fellow travellers.

Dining

Dining is a communal affair, usually overlooking the waterhole from the thatched main area.

Activities

Embark on a day or night game drive, visit some discreet hides that overlook the waterholes or go for a wild walk with their experienced guides. Within the Ongava Reserve, you have a chance of spotting both black and white rhino and even lion. You can even track the rhino on foot, a highlight not to be missed.

Child Policy

Older children are welcome; please remember that this is an unfenced camp so there is nothing to stop wildlife wandering through at any time.
