Setting
Ongava Lodge sits on a rocky outcrop (kopje) overlooking the plains below. The lodge is within the 70,000 acre private Ongava Game Reserve on the southern boundary of Etosha National Park.
Accommodation & Facilities
There are 14 stone and thatch chalets, all large and stylishly presented. Chalets are en-suite with a shower, bath and complimentary toiletries. Your very own private wooden veranda offers spectacular views across the plains and over to the Ondunozonanandana Range. All rooms are air conditioned with 24 hour electricity and large mosquito nets easily covering the large beds.The main area has a split level thatch roof and includes a lounge and dining area, as well as a bar, pool and curio shop.
Dining
Meals can be served under the stars or under thatch in the lodge’s dining area.
Activities
The focus here is on game drives, including night drives, in Etosha and Ongava Reserve, there are also walks with an armed guide - the black rhino can actually be tracked on foot in Ongava! There is a Hide near the lodge which is fantastic for watching wildlife and great for photography.
