An intimate camp with comfortable stilted, Meru style tents.
15 kilometres west of Omaruru in Namibia’s Central Highlands.
Accommodation & Facilities
Chalets each have their own niche amongst the rocks, set against the granite formations with superb views. The 10 Meru style, en-suite tents are simply furnished, pitched under the shade of thatch roofs, with their own private deck and mini bar. Bathrooms are cleverly designed and built around the rocks and trees.
The restaurant is set atop a granite hill with stunning views of the surrounding mountainous landscape, and the waterhole below allows for great wildlife viewing. There is also the ‘Mokoro’ Bar, a swimming pool and a relaxation deck.
The cuisine is excellent with 4 course dinners and a tasty brunch.
Nature walks come highly recommended as it is the best way to explore the Erongo Mountains. Set out at dusk along the mountains tops, or at sundown for a completely different perspective. You can set off and explore the area alone if you wish. Nature drives are available with local expert guides and places you may visit include Paula’s Cave which is filled with beautiful, ancient rock art. The birding here is renowned for being some of the best and you can spot anything from the tiniest sunbird to the huge soaring raptors.
Children are welcome and will enjoy the camp so long as they like walking.
