Lodge Details
Style
An small boutique-style safari camp.
Setting
Offering some of the best game viewing in Africa, Stanley’s Camp is situated on the southern tip of Chief’s Island on a 260,000 acre private concession. Bordering the southern section of the Moremi Game Reserve, the camp is nestled between large ebony and sausage trees and blends in seamlessly with its environment. Tents are gathered around a small sitting and dining area, which affords magnificent views over the floodplains of the Okavango Delta.
Accommodation & Facilities
This is one of the smallest camps in Botswana and has an intimate feel with excellent standards of accommodation and service.
Each of the eight classic-styled safari tents have en-suite facilities and private balconies with hammocks, where guests can relax in the warm African sunshine. The main communal area is on raised decking overlooking the floodplains - perfect for spotting the abundant wildlife here.
Facilities include a small swimming pool and open plan lounge/dining area. Evenings are often spent relaxing around the log fire, taking in the sites and sounds of the African plain.
Dining
Fine cuisine is complemented by an expertly selected range of South African wines.
Activities
Day and night time game drives operate in 4x4 vehicles. Game walks with well-trained guides are on offer, during which, Stanley Camp’s resident herd of elephant can often be seen. Mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions are an option, when water levels are sufficiently high.
Child Policy
Children under 9 years old are not permitted at Stanley’s Camp.
