Lodge Details

Simple and elegant décor with contemporary furniture; the main camp area boasts a plunge pool, bar and lounge as well as an orientation centre. This newly built camp offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Located around a pan which attracts game all year round, Kwando Splash Camp’s unique location has dry bush wilderness, permanent water sources, seasonal flood plains and labyrinths of water channels offering the perfect delta experience.

Accommodation & Facilities

The tented rooms, all raised on decking about 3 ft off the ground, overlook the pan. Each comes with indoor and outdoor showers, as well as en-suite facilities with a flush toilet. The two family rooms benefit from two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Private verandas offer the perfect place to sit and relax whilst taking in the magnificent views. The camp has an Enclave section with a plunge pool, dining area, lounge and bar. This can be booked for exclusive use with a minimum of six adults and a maximum of 12 guests in totol, with no age restriction for children. The rooms at the Enclave are identical to the Splash rooms.

Food served at Nxai Pan Camp is excellent and includes breakfast before your first game drive, brunch, a buffet lunch and a very substantial dinner – usually consisting of three courses. Excellent group meals are served in the camp’s communal dining area, with after-dinner coffee and night caps taken beside the campfire.

The camp is based in a private concession, giving the freedom to drive off-road and at night with spotlights to search for wildlife mainly active at night. With the expertise of both a guide and a tracker, game drives will provide opportunities to view a wide variety of wildlife. Keen birders will love looking out for ostrich, sacred ibis, white-breasted cuckoo-shrike and carmine bee-eater; whilst boat cruises, mokoro excursions and fishing trips provide an intimate wildlife-viewing experience. Wildlife highlights include elephants, painted dogs, lions, cheetahs and leopards. From August to December, visits to the nearby heronries can be reached by the main boating channel.

Child Policy

Children from the age of 6 are welcome. However if the Enclave is exclusively booked for private use, Kwando Splash Camp can accept younger children. Those over the age of 18 are considered adults and are permitted to stay at the camp unaccompanied.
