Style
A traditional African bush camp with an intimate atmosphere and a luxurious feel to the entire camp.
Setting
Located in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the Kalahari Plains Camp can be accessed via light aircraft from Maun airport or by 4x4 vehicles.
Accommodation & Facilities
There are nine canvas-covered chalet style tents available at Kalahari Plains Camp; all of which are complete with their own private bathroom and walk-in shower. Each of the tents has large, comfortable twin and double beds all of which look out across the stunning plains; there is also a large veranda outside each of the tents as well as an upper deck located on the top of the tent with another bed where you can stare up at the night’s sky.
Dining
During your stay at Kalahari Plains Camp all of your meals will be included. You will indulge in a light lunch before your morning game drive which will often comprise of a variety of cereals, juices and freshly baked muffins or pastries. You will then return to camp for a filling lunch and later in the day enjoy a delicious afternoon tea. In the evenings your dinner will be served in a three course style manner and these mealtimes are often served in a group style around a large table where you will be able to share stories of your adventures throughout the day.
Activities
The main focus at Kalahari Plains Camp is placed upon exploring the incredible reserve where you are situated and going in search of the flora and fauna which call this area home. Two game drives take place each day once in the morning and the other in the afternoon. You will also have the opportunity to embark upon a guided Bushman walk led by members of the San Bushman clan.
Child Policy
Children over the age of six are allowed to stay at Kalahari Plains Camp although, it should be noted that the camp is unfenced and does not have a lot of activities to keep children entertained. Private activities for children must be booked in advance and do have an additional cost applied to them.
