Day 1, 02 August - Arrive Oslo

You’ll be met by a representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

Collect your ship luggage tags and meet the ground operation team, who will brief you about your embarkation, answer any last-minute questions, or provide you with information about the city should you wish to take a wander and explore. They'll also assist with any recommendations for local dining or sightseeing to help you make the most of your time before the journey begins.

Day 2, 03 August - Oslo – Longyearbyen

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before heading onto your charter flight to Longyearbyen. Time permitting, you’ll take a guided tour of the town, exploring its fascinating history and Arctic culture, including visits to local landmarks or museums.

Afterward, you’ll make your way to the pier to embark on your ship and set sail into the scenic Adventfjord, where the excitement of your Arctic expedition truly begins.

Days 3-5, 04-06 August – Exploring Svalbard

Your expert guides will tailor your itinerary according to weather conditions and opportunities for wildlife encounters. You may get the chance to kayak amongst the incredible fjords, and the most adventurous among you may wish to take the polar plunge.

Visit nesting colonies of guillemot, puffin and little auk on the towering cliffs above the pastures. Look out for lone polar bears and herds of walrus on the sea ice and beaches.

Day 6, 07 Aug – At Sea

As the thick morning fog clears en route to East Greenland, you may be fortunate enough to spot whales and seals amongst the drifting pack ice, creating unforgettable wildlife sightings.

Along the journey, your experienced team onboard will share their impressive knowledge of the region’s unique flora and fauna, offering fascinating insights into the delicate Arctic ecosystem.

Day 7, 08 Aug – Jan Mayen

Today, you’ll journey to the northernmost active volcano in the world, the impressive Jan Mayen, which rises to a height of 2,277 meters. This remote and rugged island is a striking sight, with its towering peak and glaciers slowly sliding toward the sea. As you approach, it’s an excellent location to keep an eye out for whales and dolphins, which are often spotted in these waters, creating a perfect backdrop of marine life against the dramatic glacial landscape. The volcanic terrain and pristine wilderness make this a truly unique stop on your expedition.

Days 8-10, 09-11 Aug – Scoresby Sund & Ittoqqortoormiit

Over the next few days, you’ll explore the coast of East Greenland, with the team tailoring your experiences around the weather and ice conditions. The goal will be to make two zodiac excursions or landings per day.

The ice peaks of Scoresby Sund can reach 2,000 meters towering above you, as you sail through giant icebergs in the fjord. You’ll visit one of the most isolated settlements in the world, the Inuit village of Ittoqqortoormiit.

Day 11, 12 Aug – Solar Eclipse

Your crew will get you set in the perfect position to witness the solar eclipse. You’ll gather on deck as the moon starts to slowly slide across the sun until the twilight turns into absolute night, for just over two full minutes.

As the sun begins to remerge capture a breathtaking photo the burning ring over the fjords, or simply treasure the memory of the celestial sight.

Days 12-13, 13-14 Aug – Exploring East Greenland

For the next few days, you’ll continue to discover the remarkable wildlife within the fjords and sounds of Greenland. This area attracts mountain hares, arctic fox and reindeer due to the rich volcanic soil and sheltering mountains.

You’ll also find fascinating sandstone, siltstone and shale rock formations as well as evidence of Inuit hunting as you hike the tundra.

Day 14, 15 Aug – Denmark Strait

Today, you’ll cross the Denmark Strait on your return journey to Iceland. As you sail through these waters, keep an eye out for seabirds soaring gracefully overhead, including species like fulmars and kittiwakes, which are often seen in this region. The surrounding waters are also a prime location for spotting whales, so stay vigilant as you may catch sight of these magnificent creatures surfacing or breaching, adding a final touch of wildlife magic to your adventure.

Day 15, 16 Aug – Depart Reykjavik

You’ll reach the port in Reykjavik in the morning, where you’ll bid farewell to your expedition team after an incredible journey together. From here, you’ll be transferred to the airport, giving you time to reflect on your adventure as you prepare for your international flight home. It’s recommended to book your flight for after 12pm, allowing for a comfortable and unhurried transfer to the airport, ensuring you depart Iceland with plenty of time to spare.
