Style
Designed in a warm and modern style with expansive panoramic windows, Sheldon Chalet is luxury at 6,000 ft.
Setting
Perched on a nunatak in the middle of the Don Sheldon Amphitheatre on 4.9 acres of private land, within Denali National Park.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation is in five rooms, four of which can be twin or king, and one which is a fixed queen. There are two bathrooms shared between the five rooms; none are en-suite. There is a third restroom in the living/dining area downstairs. The bathrooms have fully functional showers thanks to a state-of-the-art water system, a luxury at 6,000 ft! There is also a large bright communal area with panoramic windows overlooking the mountains, with easy access to the outside deck for Aurora viewing at night. The lounge is the perfect place to return to after a day of adventures, where you can relax by the warmth of the fire and enjoy a glass of wine with a gourmet meal.
Dining
All meals are included and served fresh three times per day. Your private chef will cook regional dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients that are paired with the finest wines.
Activities
The range of activities available means that every traveller can do as much or as little as they please. Ski the mountain slopes, explore ice caves, snow caverns and crevasses, adventure through the mountains in a helicopter, curl up with a good book from the library, head out into the snow to warm up with a snowball fight – whatever you decide, you’ll be feeling right at home in no time. In the evenings, enjoy the sauna or relax with a glass of wine on the deck and look out for shooting stars, meteors, and the mystical Aurora Borealis. There is no internet connectivity at the lodge, so it’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature and relax in the solitude of the mountains.
Child Policy
Children are welcome at Sheldon Chalet. There is no minimum age for exclusive groups, but please note that children under 10 years old will not be able to participate in a lot of the available activities. For group trips, children should be 10 years or older, but we ask you to strongly consider whether your children or teens would be happy with no internet connectivity and a lot of silence!
