About Scalesia Lodge, Isabela Island

Located in the highlands of Isabela Island in the Galapagos, Scalesia Lodge is luxury lodge based on an African safari concept, where guests sleep under canvas allowing them to be fully immersed with the natural world. Nestled within 16 hectares of magnificent Scalesia forest, it offers incredible views of the coast of Isabela Island and out onto the Pacific Ocean. 

A new lodge concept in the Galapagos; Scalesia has been designed to connect you with nature, and works well on its own or combined with a Galapagos cruise. 

It is a great option for those who prefer not to spend too much time at sea.

Setting

Just a 20 minute drive from Puerto Vilamil, La Scalesia Lodge is located in the highlands of Isabela Island.

Accommodation & Facilities

It is comprised of sixteen luxury tents all of which are beautifully furnished in a clean and contemporary style to reflect your serene surroundings. All of the tents are complete with their own en-suite bathroom filled with all of the amenities you will need throughout your stay. From the comfort of your tent you will be able to relax in the evenings with a sundowner in awe of the stunning vistas of the Galapagos Islands including the highlands and coastal areas.

Dining

Throughout your stay at La Scalesia Lodge all of your meals will be prepared to an impressive standard; the knowledgeable chefs ensure that only the freshest ingredients will be used in your dishes. The food served is a mixture of local and international dishes.

Activities

The lodge offers 3, 4 and 7 night programs offering a wide range of daily activities. Ideally located on Isabela Island there are ample opportunities for you to explore this majestic island as well as going in search of the wide range of wildlife which calls this island home- many of which are endemic to the island itself. There is a turtle breeding centre on the island which has the aim of rescuing and rehabilitating the infamous giant turtles in order for them to be released back into the wild. There are two active volcanoes which you are able to explore via hikes and treks; Sierra Negra volcano erupted last in 2005 and is one of the most active volcanoes of the Galapagos, you will also be able to explore the Chico Volcano.
