Located on Santa Cruz Island, Finch Bay Eco Hotel is a charming retreat, surrounded by the unique flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands. In a tranquil spot on a quiet beach, it accommodates up to 52 guests and has a completely eco-friendly infrastructure.

Named after Darwin Finches, you will often spot friendly pelicans or herons at the pool having a drink and to explore further afield there are two boats to explore the nearby Islands. 

Perfect as an addition to a Galapagos Cruise, or for those who would prefer to be based on dry land, Finch Bay is a wonderful hotel in a great spot for exploring the Galapagos.

An award-winning hotel with very strong ecological values and spacious accommodation for guests, each with garden or ocean view rooms.

Setting

This wonderful property is located on the south side of Santa Cruz Island on a small, tranquil beach. To get there, you will need to take a flight to Baltra from Ecuador where the staff will meet you if you have pre-booked. The hotel is close to the shopping area of Puerto Ayora as well as Las Grietas, one of the best snorkelling sites in the Galapagos.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are 21 garden view rooms and 6 newer ocean view suites, available with twin beds or kings. Rooms are kept simple, light and airy, with flashes of colour from the bedding and the art found on the walls. Rooms and suites are all air-conditioned (you are encouraged to set this a little warmer than you would at home, making it a little more friendly towards the environment) and extra insulated to keep the temperature in the rooms cool, there is also wooden blinds and a black-out curtain. Rooms all have a private bathroom with hot water, hair dryers, soap and shampoo.

In the main area you will find the bar, lounge and swimming pool. The hotel boasts innovative ecological techniques and takes great care to look after the delicate flora and fauna of the Galapagos.

Dining

Cuisine is locally sourced, growing as much of their own fruit and vegetables possible. Expect freshly caught seafood, as well as local and international dishes.

Activities

There are lots of things to do from here to explore, including kayaking, snorkelling, mountain biking, yachts to the nearby islands, scuba diving and bird watching. This is the only hotel on Santa Puerto Ayora to be located right on the beach too.
