about Posada Puerto Bemberg, Iguazu Falls

Brimming with ‘jungle energy’, the Posada Puerto Bemberg is a luxurious, charming and rustic retreat in an excellent, quiet reserve close to the magnificent Iguassu Falls. Surrounded by wild jungle, alive with the calls of birds and the flitting of butterfly wings, this is a colonial style accommodation with amazing on-site activities, from walks to boat trips.

Located 30 kilometres from the Fall’s themselves, it is not the closest hotel, but access to the falls is really easy and it is worth it for the superb location above the Paraná river, exquisite accommodation and great facilities.

Posada Puerto Bemberg detail

Style

Luxurious yet rustic jungle living, this intimate hotel has spacious rooms and contemporary facilities all in a wild, jungle setting.

Setting

3 Kilometres from Puerto Libertad, the hotel is 30 kilometres (yet easily connected) from Iguassu Falls and is surrounded by 30 hectares of jungle reserve. The drive to the lodge itself is a little bumpy, but it’ll definitely wake you up after a long flight!

Accommodation & Facilities

There are 12 Superior Rooms, a Deluxe Guestroom and a Suite with a private balcony, all spacious and fresh feeling, with chunky wooden furnishings and tropical décor. Ceilings are high and beds ridiculously comfortable, joined by llama quilts and pure Egyptian cotton bed linen. Rooms even have their own little library area with books by Latin American authors written in the 20th Century and the windows are large, welcoming the outdoors. There is also a TV and DVD player, cold air and air-conditioning, a pillow menu and a safe.  You couldn’t want too much more after waking up to the sounds of the jungle and the mist rising through the trees right outside your window.

There is a nice sized pool, great for a wake up swim in the morning, and a library and living room area with over 2,500 books. You will also find a viewpoint and a watch tower outside.

Dining

Cuisine is a mixture of flavours and influences, served in the restaurant lounge area.

Activities

A visit to the vast Iguassu Falls is definitely recommended and you can also see them from the Brazilian side for a different perspective, or even from a helicopter. Explore the jungle with an early morning nature walk or speedboat ride down the river, or experience some history with a trip to the chapel or a visit to the 17th century Jesuit missions near Posadas. There is also a ‘wine cave’ with some amazing vintage wines for you to sample.

Child Policy

Children 8 years and over are welcome, however we recommend they be at least 12 to really gain the most of the experience and jungle setting.
