Setting
The lodge is a short drive from Cataratas del Iguazu International Airport, located within 3 acres of the Iryapú Nature Reserve in Iguazu, and is only 10 minutes from the natural wonder that is Iguazu Falls.
Accommodation and Facilities
There are 24 spacious, air-conditioned guestrooms at La Cantera Jungle Lodge. Forest rooms are the smallest option, accommodating two guests, however they are still comfortable and equipped with king-size bed, television, in-room safe and private balcony with jungle views. Slightly larger are the Tierra or Standard rooms, which can accommodate one child and two adults. These rooms, have a mini-bar, bathroom with shower and bath, as well as all the features of the Forest rooms. Jungle or Superior rooms are spacious, with private balcony, Jacuzzi and hammocks as well as king size bed and en-suite bathroom. The Villas are the largest option; ideal for families as they accommodate up to five guests. All of the rooms are decorated and furnished tastefully, with bright colours and cheerful patterns, high quality bedding and wooden furniture and artwork adorning the walls.
The lodge has a large outdoor pool with hammocks and day beds beside it, for those who fancy unwinding poolside. There is also a restaurant, sun terrace and hot tub. Free Wi-Fi is also available.
Dining
Choose from fresh fruit, pastries and juices from the buffet at breakfast at the lodge. The on-site restaurant El Boyero serves delicious dishes inspired by both international and local cuisine.
Activities
The location of this lodge makes it a great base from which to experience the breath-taking sights and wildlife of Iguazu National Park. Head out on a guided trek, boat trip or bike ride to experience this diverse and exciting terrain. Those who are passionate about nature will love the variety of wildlife you can spot here; the park is home to many species of animal such as the jaguar, giant otter, giant anteater as well as many different types of birds and diverse plant life. An unmissable experience here is a visit to the great Iguazu Falls – watching the water cascade down and the vast spray which is produced is truly a breath-taking sight. There are special programmes available for those who wish to explore the environment a little more in depth.
Alternatively, for those wishing to wind down and relax, you can lay poolside with a drink from the bar, or indulge in one of the spa treatments available on-site.
