Begin your journey in the exclusive NWS Hunt Camp idyllically located in the heart of the Maasai Mara; get up close to the action as you watch the thousands of animals embark upon the Great Migration. Then continue on to the awe-inspiring beaches of Zanzibar to relax and embark on tours of the local area.
Spend your time exploring the vast plains of the Masai Mara in an attempt to spot the big five and the Great Migration! You will then embark on a tour around Stone Town where you will be taken through the narrow, winding streets of the area. Spend your final days in Zanzibar on the stunning east coast of the island where you will be able to relax on the beaches overlooking the Indian Ocean and Mnemba Island.
Today you will arrive in Nairobi where you will be met and transferred to Wilson Airport for your short flight into the Masai Mara. You will then embark upon your first game drive en-route to NWS Hunt Camp where you will be able to settle in, enjoy a delicious lunch and ask any questions you may have regarding your safari. In the afternoon head out on your first game drive in search of the Great Migration.
Overnight: Rekero Camp (L, D)
Over the next three days you will spend your time exploring the Masai Mara and the vast range of wildlife which call this incredible area home. You will be staying here at the time of the year which gives you the best opportunity of witnessing the Great Migration. During this time thousands of wildebeest embark on a colossal journey north. You may be able to visit the Talek River to witness the dramatic river crossings; the wildebeest and zebra will be attempting to avoid the many dangers in and around the river including crocodiles. You will have the opportunity to take part in morning and evening game drives, which will often be followed by breakfast picnics and sundowners where you will be able to truly appreciate your stunning surroundings.
Overnight: Rekero Camp (B, L, D)
This morning you will say your fond farewells to the Masai Mara with one last game drive on your way to the airstrip for your internal flight back to Nairobi. Whilst in Nairobi you will be taken to a local restaurant for lunch (payment of your own accord). You will then arrive back at Nairobi airport in plenty of time before your onward flight to the majestic island of Zanzibar (this flight is not included). You will be met and transferred the short distance to Stone Town where you will check-in and relax in your hotel for the night.
Overnight: Zanzibar Palace Hotel (B)
Today, after breakfast, you will be taken on a half day tour around the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town. You will explore the narrow streets whilst learning about the colonial architecture which surrounds you. You will then be transferred to Zanzibar Beach where you will check in to your lodge in time for a delicious lunch. Spend the afternoon settling into your new surroundings; relaxing by the beach and enjoying sundowners with dinner.
Overnight: Matemwe Lodge (B, L, D)
You will now have four days where you will be able to relax on the bright white sands looking out across the Indian Ocean. During your stay here you will have the opportunity to explore the local area on spice tours, visit nearby fishing villages and a Dhow trip. There are also a number of watersports available including snorkelling, scuba diving and reef walks.
Overnight: Matemwe Lodge (B, L, D)
After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred to the international airport for your onward flight.
