This wonderfully homely lodge is fantastically located on the banks of the River Diphlu and adjacent to the Kazingara National Park. Being this close of the vicinity of the park do not be surprised if you get a number of uninvited guests at mealtimes whilst dining under the beautiful sky.

Accommodation & Facilities

Each of the twelve cottages accommodate just two guests at a time so you can be as sociable as you desire! There are four semi-detached cottages which work really well when you are travelling in a small group or as a family. Each of the cottages is air conditioned and has their own en-suite with a fitted wardrobe. All of the stilted cottages and communal areas have been designed to cause as little disruption to the environment as possible; they were built using natural materials such as bamboo.

From the lodge there are a wide range of trips and activities which you can embark upon. Ranging from cultural visits to the local villages and witnessing a local dance performance to; bathing an Indian elephant and visiting an incredible tea garden. There is Wi-Fi available in the communal area which is known as the Machan which means jungle platform- a wonderful place to relax after a full day of exploring.

Dining

All meals are included at the Diphlu River Lodge and the menu can be altered to anyone’s taste! The lodge organically grows a range of vegetables, mustard and rice which are all used in a large proportion of the dishes served at the lodge. The menu is a blend of continental, North Indian and Assamese recipes in order to accommodate as many guests as possible; food allergies and special diets can be catered for with prior notice.

Activities

Game drives via 4x4 vehicles are top priority here; Kaziranga National Park is full of incredible wildlife which your knowledgeable guide will help you spot and give you information about. You will also have the opportunity to embark upon an exclusive walking safari throughout the park which requires permission from the authorities; it will give you a completely different perspective of the animals which live in the park.
