September weather & where to go

The dry period extends into September, with sunny days interspersed with rain here and there in Borneo’s unpredictable manner. With such a great chance of fine days this is the perfect time to head to the Kinabatangan River for wildlife watching, to Danum Valley and to the sublime islands and beaches of Sabah.

With lots of Europe still on holiday, September can be busy in Borneo, so it is another month in which we suggest you book yourself in early.

Orangutan seen on Borneo vacation

Over to the west in Sarawak, we’re also in a relatively dry month, meaning it’s a great time to explore the national parks and even the beaches.

Across the whole of Borneo, there is chances of rain at any time, especially in the afternoons, however this is one of the driest times to go so the odds are in your favour if you’re not too keen on adventures in the rain.
