Features and Facilities
The Borneo Rainforest Lodge is a cosy international-standard lodge built beside the Danum River in the renowned Danum Valley.
Accommodation & facilities
There are 31 rooms, each has an en-suite bathroom and hot shower. There is no air-conditioning, but there are fans to keep you cool. The deluxe chalets are 20% larger and are newer than the standard chalets, each with a private balcony and an outdoor hot tub. The central lodge is large and has recently been refurbished; an airy building standing on columns of belian, Borneo's famous hardwood, and features a spacious verandah, dining area and well-stocked bar. Throughout the lodge you will find a natural, modern theme with wooden flooring and wide open spaces. Borneo Rainforest Lodge has its own tree-top canopy walkway.
Good food served daily and a stay here includes all of your meals. Meals are taken with outstanding views over the jungle and the sound of the wildlife, which can include gibbons and orangutans.
Lodge activities include jungle walks, bird watching with resident nature guides, canopy walkways high above the jungle floor (allowing the viewing of the rainforest from the treetops) and night safaris with sights and sounds emanating deep from within the rainforest. Venture out a little further to the Serpent Falls or ancient burial site of Coffin Cliff, or even have a go at tubing down the Danum River.
Good for children and families, but there are no specific facilities.
