Little Makololo

about Little Makololo

Little Makalolo shares the same private concession as its sister camp, Makalolo Plains. This ecologically diverse area is well known for its large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as its ferocious predators such a lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog!

Just 6 chalets make up the camp, all of which are en-suite with both indoor and outdoor showers. They all share a nice main area where you will find a plunge pool and some fabulous decking.

This lodge is ideal for relaxing in the afternoons after a day out in the wild.

An intimate tented camp.

Setting

In the east of Hwange National Park on a private concession, overlooking Samavundla Pan. Transfer is by 4x4 vehicle – more of a game drive than a transfer!

Accommodation & Facilities

The 6 tented chalets all have a nice timber frame, keeping them light and airy. Rooms all include a safe, fan and a writing desk that looks through one of the large mesh windows onto the pan. Rooms are en-suite with both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as copper wash basins and a flush toilet. The honeymoon suite has the added bonus of an outdoor bath too! Large double doors lead out on to private verandas for each chalet, with seating, shaded by canvas.

All of the tented chalets are connected to the main area via sandy, well trodden elephant paths. This part of the lodge includes a dining area, comfortable lounge, library and a tea and coffee station. The main focal point seems to be the fire pit, which is surrounded by chairs – encouraging guests to sit and share the stories from the day under the stars. There is also a small plunge pool and a communal decking area.
