lodge details

A luxurious and exclusive lodge, providing guests with their own private facilities surrounded by subtle African décor.

The lodge is about 80km from Victoria Falls, near the meeting of Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. With its own private section of the river, Imbabala Lodge has spectacular views over the riverine channels and islands, where impala roam freely and hippos and elephants are often found feeding.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are 2 twin bed lodges and 3 doubles, although twins can quite easily be made into doubles and visa versa. The family suite sleeps up to 4 people, and there is a suite with its own outside shower. The dining area is completely open at the sides for panoramic views over the surrounding landscape. As the lodge only accommodates up to 18 guests at a time, you are guaranteed complete privacy and exclusivity, right on the banks of the Zambezi River.

The bar is a great place to share the stories of the day in the evening and the pool is perfect for a bit of relaxation!

Food is exquisite and guests may either dine indoors our out under the stars.

Game drives in a 4x4 are done in the morning and the afternoon and guests can also take advantage of the pontoon boat for river cruises, where you will drift down the river watching the wildlife at its edges. Walking safaris can be arranged with an armed professional guide and fishing may also be available on request. The birding here is exceptional due to the papyrus reeds that border the Zambezi, attracting a huge variety.

Child Policy

Children over 7 are allowed, however please remember that wildlife may roam through the camp, so children must be supervised at all times.

Responsible Travel

Imbabala Lodge has a strong focus on the environment, winning an award for outstanding environmental performance. The lodge itself was built from thatch and commercially grown eucalyptus poles and all of the staff and guest, as well as the local communities are made aware of environmental issues.
