Style
A mobile tented camp.
Setting
Gonarezhou is the second largest National Park in Zimbabwe, and encompases a huge diversity of natural habitats and topograhpies. Yet, due to the small number of visitors, the wildlife remains truly unhabituated.
Our Gonarezhou Camping Safari takes guests to some of the more scenic and game rich locations within the park, including the iconic Chilojo cliffs, following the paths of early explorers.
Accommodation & Facilities
The tents are 2-man dome tents that contain a stretcher with a foam mattress, an under blanket and cover blankets, with the amount depending on the season and the temperature. The bucket showers are kept private behind a canvas screen and have duckboards underfoot and the toilets are well-constructed bush loos (long-drops).
The game vehicles can be used for camera battery charging after a long day of capturing breath-taking imagery of the scenery and wildlife of the park.
Dining
Dining table and chairs are set out under the shade of trees, always with a spectacular backdrop. In wetter weathers, a gazebo is used to provide shelter. On some days, picnic breakfasts or picnic lunches will be enjoyed en route.
Activities
Each day brings the opportunity to explore a new area of Gonarezhou. The itinerary can be built to include as much or as little walking as guests desire, and can be modified en route.
Travellers enjoy a private guide and private game drive vehicles per group, and there is a second vehicle to take the camping items up ahead to the next location.
Child Policy
There is a recommend minimum age of 6 years, and that each child under 12 years old has an accompanying adult.
