Lodge Details
Style
A remote and intimate classic tented bush camp.
Setting
The camp is set in South Luangwa National Park with stunning views of the Kapamba River and the unspoilt wilderness that surrounds it.
Accommodation & Facilities
The 4 classic Meru style tents are set on concrete platforms with thatch roofs and feature a private deck with sunken plunge pool. Rooms are spacious and feature some nicely carved rosewood furniture and traditional African colours. All tents are en-suite with hot and cold running water (solar powered), a flush toilet and plenty of toiletries to keep you going. Showers are outdoors, a truly wonderful experience.
The main area is thatched, walled on 3 sides by waist high reeds, the 4th side provides spectacular open views and the dining area is underneath a huge mahogany tree. There is a sunken deck featuring a boma, with wonderful views over the Kapamba River and Muchinga Escarpment as well as a roaring campfire to share the days adventure over.
Dining
The delicious food has a hearty home-cooked feel, the camp is all inclusive.
Activities
The main activity here is walking safaris, usually in locations near the camp. There is the occasional game drive, however strictly none at night.
Child Policy
Children must be over 12. Under 12’s cannot participate in walking safaris in South Luangwa National Park, if you wish for children of this age to accompany you, the whole camp must be booked on a private basis, along with a private guide and safari vehicle. This is so under 12’s can experience game drives while you are out walking.
