The enchanting setting for Mfuwe Lodge emphasises further the magnificence of it; thatched buildings are sleekly arranged down the banks of 2 lagoons, with magnificent vistas from every area of the lodge. Everything here is on a grand and luxurious scale; however it acts as a compliment to the natural surroundings and is very in-keeping with the African theme - with large bold wooden carvings of giraffes dotted through the main area and wildlife paintings on the walls. The lodge is great for relaxation and pampering, spa facilities are at your disposal – along with a pool to relax in and watch the wildlife unfold.
A grand and exquisite lodge, with large chalets for guests and a relaxed, African charm.
Surrounded by water, where thirsty game frequents, the lodge is wonderfully shaded by ebony trees and natal mahogany amidst one of the most prolific wildlife areas of South Luangwa National Park.
Accommodation & Facilities
There are 18 guest chalets consisting of 2 suites, 3 doubles, 3 family rooms and 10 twins. All chalets are en-suite with impressive bathrooms, all have panoramic walk in showers, toilets and twin basins – suites also have bath. Each chalet has a private deck with its own spectacular vantage point of the lagoons.
Family rooms have a king size bed upstairs and a smaller ‘day bed’ downstairs in the sitting area, whereas suites have an elevated sitting area providing a larger lounge area than twins or doubles.
The main area is open plan, incorporating reception, bar, dining and lounge areas, encompassed by a huge thatch roof held up by palm poles. In front of the lounge is a large deck area (boma), where you will find the swimming pool and stunning vistas of the landscape beyond. There is also a library dedicated to nature and conservation issues, curio shop, Bush Spa and a fully stocked bar.
Delicious meals can be served in a variety of locations, limited only by the imagination, from dinners out in the bush to candlelit meals back in camp on the boma overlooking the lagoon.
