Lodge Details
Style
An intimate camp built from natural materials and open to the natural outdoors.
Setting
Nkwali Camp is on the opposite side of the river to South Luangwa National Park, just a 40 minute drive from Mfuwe village.
Accommodation & Facilities
The chalets are built from stone and thatch; they have very high ceilings and flagstone floors and are completely open at the front, keeping them cool and spacious. Being open means you can watch the animals drinking from the local water hole whilst lying in bed! To keep out unwanted visitors, bamboo and metal shutter are pulled down at night. Chalets are all en-suite with flush toilets, twin basins and a very exotic open air double shower.
The main building is open sided and thatched and encompasses a small library and bar along side lost of seating areas. There is a large wooden deck stretched out onto the river, great for relaxing and sharing stories over a nice cool drink. Closer to the river there is a thatched dining area under the shade of a jackal berry tree. Other facilities include a swimming pool and sun loungers.
Dining
Meals are varied and delicious and can be served in the dining area or outside.

Guides here are very knowledgeable and well trained. Activities include walking safaris, game drives, night drives and boat trips in the green season (November - May).
