First built in 1902, this is a lovingly restored guesthouse with comfortable accommodation and an intimate and friendly atmosphere.
This is the closest accommodation to Amber Mountain National Park, just 3.5 kilometres away along a dirt track. Close to the small military town of Joffreville in northern Madagascar.
Accommodation & Facilities
There are just 6 guestrooms here, each set into the gardens at the back of the house, once stables for the old house. Rooms all have a double bed and en-suite bathroom, complete with a shower. Walls are white-washed, with bursts of colour bringing the rooms to life alongside some elegant furnishings.
The main building welcomes you with a grand staircase and a wonderful dining area with white-washed walls and carved wooden décor. The dining area is also home to a fully stocked bar and you are encouraged to sit and have a drink in the evenings. There is also a lounge and small library.
The restaurant is in the main house, with homemade food made by Herve, the owner.
From here you have great access, via 4x4, to Amber Mountain National Park, the first natural reserve of Madagascar. You can visit the stunning Ankarana massif, a 2500 hectare coral reef or the Red Tsingy, a completely unique sight to Madagascar. The Litchi Tree can also organise visits to the Emeraude Sea, a great spot for viewing the underwater fauna, or Diego Suarez, great for seeing the colonial sights of the area.
