Mara Plains Camp is located in the Masai Mara Reserve within the 100,000-acre Olare Motorgori Conservancy. Accessed from Nairobi by an hour's flight to the Ol Kiombo airstrip and then a 30-minute game drive to the camp.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are seven en-suite traditional safari tents, accommodating up to fourteen guests at a time, accessed by crossing a bridge along the Ntiakitiak Riverbend. Raised on decks with muted tones to blend in and enjoy views of the sweeping savanna. The design honours the look and feel of Eastern Africa with thick Lamyu wooden doors and the occasional splash of red reflecting the great Maasai warriors.

Head out on safari drives during the prime times of sunrise and sunset. Meet the Maasai on a local village visit and explore the bush on foot with a professional Maasai guide. Take to the skies on a hot-air balloon safari flight, at an additional cost.

As a member of the Great Plain Conservation, a stay at Mara Plains Camp contributes to the conservation of the area and benefits the local Maasai people. Great Plains Conservation protects endangered species and has planted more than 2000 trees to help bring back the indigenous trees of the Mara and regenerate the ecosystem. They also support conservation education and local female run business through the sale of their craftwork.
