Kicheche Mara Camp aims to have as little impact on the environment as possible whilst supporting wildlife and the local community. Solar panels are used to generate electricity and water is heated using recycled charcoal dust pellets. The Kicheche Community Project supports the local community by providing long term employment and offers a scholarship each year to Koiyaki Guiding School. They have also helped to fund a headmaster, the rebuild of the Olkimitare Nusery School and installed a pump to provide clean water.
