Shanti Maurice is a scenic 35 minute drive from the airport, right on the ocean front on the southern coast of Mauritius.
Accommodation & Facilities
The 44 generously proportioned Junior Suites are housed in villa buildings, with four suites per villa. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and beautifully designed using earthy tones and a contemporary style. Junior Suites on the ground floor have direct beach access and outdoor rain showers; those on the first floor have balconies to make the most out of the astounding views. The Luxury villas are a huge 208 square metres and have their very own private garden, temperature controlled swimming pool, rain shower and lounge beds; inside you will find a bedroom, bathroom and dressing room. Next on the list is the Luxury Suite Villas, similar to the Luxury Villas, but with an additional lounge area and 54 square metre pool, bringing the total area up to 376 square metres. Then there are 3 Suite Villas with 2 bedrooms, perfect for families or groups wishing to stay together. The large pool here has an additional built in Jacuzzi and there is more space than you can shake a stick at. Lastly there is the Shanti Villa which is a massive 800 square metres in total area, with a living room, two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a butler's room, as well as landscaped gardens, a pool with a Jacuzzi, ‘sala’ dining pavilions and an outdoor rain shower.
All suites and villas have broadband internet access, plasma TV and a DVD player.
In the resort you will also find a library, main pool (with Jacuzzi), water sports centre, spa, yoga pavilion, gym, tennis courts and Kids Club. There are also a range of spaces in which you can dine, including Stars, the Fish & Rhum Shack, Red Ginger Lounge and Grandma’s Kitchen.
The cuisine here is nothing short of spectacular and there are some beautiful places to dine – mostly using fresh, local ingredients.
Activities include golf, tennis and jogging, as well as water sports including dolphin watching, kayaking, sailing, wind surfing and snorkelling. Water-skiing, deep sea fishing and other activities are available outside of the resort area. Aside from this, you can head out and explore your surroundings with a picnic, take part in cultural activities or go scuba diving.
