About Olhuveli Beach & Spa Maldives

The image of sand, ocean, thatched huts and wooden boardwalks is as iconic as any in the world of travel, and this resort lives up to those inescapable connotations of luxury living with gusto. Boasting 225 villas and a cornucopia of dining venues, leisure facilities and classic holiday activities, Olhuveli is the Maldives at its best. Perfect for friends, families, honeymooners and solo travellers alike, you’ll be able to dive in (sometimes literally) to as many things as you like, or simply relax and recline underneath the rays of the tropical sun – it’s your choice!

A combination of traditional architecture and modern flair that complements the stretches of sand and sea here, Olhuveli offers luxury without the ostentation, allowing you to take in the beauty of the natural world while enjoying all the benefits of a high-end resort.

The Maldives have long been one of the world’s foremost destinations for luxury travel due to their makeup of idyllic tropical atolls, and the 59-acre island in South Malé Atoll occupied by Olhuveli is no exception. With pristine white sand beaches, swaying palm trees and thatched huts built over sparkling azure waters, this location is every inch a tropical paradise.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are 10 different types of villa to choose from here: five which are set on the beach, and five built over the water. Nowhere do you lose sight of the simply stunning views, as each villa has been crafted to blend contemporary chic design with open-air living, allowing you to bask in the sunlight while reclining on your bed, sun lounger, armchair, sofa, bath, hot tub, chaise longue… the list goes on! In addition to the variety of villas on offer, guests can also make use of a gym and spa complete with sauna, salon, steam room, Jacuzzis, plunge pools and a manicure and pedicure room; two large infinity swimming pools; a water sports centre and dive centre; a sports complex with facilities for tennis, badminton, darts, volleyball, billiards and table tennis; and even a manta ray viewing point at the end of a jetty. Regardless of how active or sedentary you wish to be during your stay at Olhuveli, you’ll certainly be well catered for!

With no less than five dining venues and two bars to choose from, an empty stomach is not a problem you’ll have to face during a stay at Olhuveli. Here you can partake in buffet-style dining at one of the largest overwater restaurants in the Maldives, or opt for a beachfront meal overlooking South Malé Atoll’s sparkling lagoon. Island Pizza serves up the classic Italian staple infused with your choice of fresh and seasonal ingredients, The Plankton Grill features an open-style kitchen cooking freshly caught seafood, while The Four Spices specialises in Asian cuisine, drawing on flavours from Japan, India, Thailand and the Maldives. And when it’s time to unwind, head to one of the two bars to sip a cocktail and watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean.

In addition to the host of facilities on the atoll that guests can utilise at their leisure, you’ll also be able to embark on snorkelling safaris and a number of cruises, as well as fishing trips either at sunrise or sunset. Onshore, why not take part in weekly crab races, hire out the private karaoke room or experience Maldivian culture by attending traditional song and dance performances? Further afield, excursions to other islands and atolls will allow you to soak in more of the Maldives as you take a private boat tour, meet local fishermen, take a dive in the world’s largest passenger submarine or visit the capital city of Malé, with its bustling fish markets, mosques and motorbikes.

All of the villas here are able to accommodate up to two children under 12 years of age. If you’re travelling as a family, Olhuveli provides plenty of options to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, including children’s dining menus, activity areas and swimming pools as well as a babysitting service.
