LODGE DETAILS
Style
A cosy and intimate, classic camp with a peaceful atmosphere.
Setting
Situated within the Okavango Delta - a private concession on an island to the south east of the area.
Accommodation & Facilities
Each of the eight en-suite, tented rooms are located upon raised wooden decks and all interlinked by wooden walkways meandering through the trees. Each of the rooms has both their own indoor and outdoor shower- with stunning vistas across the plains.
The camp has a number of communal areas which are often great places for guests to compare stories concerning their exciting day with possibilities of giraffes, zebras and even leopards! There is also a swimming pool for guests to cool down in the African sun and there is even a small library nestled within the backdrop of acacia trees.
Dining
All meals and most drinks are included at the Chitabe Camp; the camp’s chefs are able to accommodate for most dietary requirements including vegetarians and children as long as notice has been given. Both breakfast and lunch are served in a buffet style and then dinner is more formal consisting of a three course meal. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced including varieties of meats, vegetables and fruits.
Activities
With the camp’s knowledgeable leaders and guides exploring the local area for game is a favourite pass time for many of the guests. Daily morning and sunset game drives take place within open 4x4 vehicles- which can be privately hired. Wild Dogs make quite the regular appearance at Chitabe and if you’re really lucky during the night drives it can even be possible to spot a leopard!
Child Policy
Children over the age of 12 are welcome at the Chitabe Camp and children between the ages of 8 and 12 may be considered if a private vehicle is booked.
