Mansion Alcazar is just a short distance from Parque Calderon, Cuenca’s famous central square which is dominated by the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción. Also known as the New Cathedral, this beautiful mixture of architectural styles features iconic giant blue domes covered with tiles of Czechoslovakia and stunning stained glass windows.

With just 11 rooms and 3 suites, this boutique hotel remains intimate, looking after its guests within its refined and elegant structure. Guests may relax to the sounds of the Grand Piano or sit outside in the vibrant jasmine gardens with a sophisticated glass of wine. 

An ideal spot from which to explore the local architecture, visit the museums and churches and enjoy the cities bright night life.

Accommodation & Facilities

Single rooms have views over the interior patio and are made for just one person, featuring a queen sized bed and an en-suite bathroom including a shower. Double rooms are similar but with either a queen or twin bed, they may also have a view of the garden. The suites have a king bed with a view over the garden and there is an added living room with a sofa bed (for children under 10). All rooms feature fine and elegant antiques and bouquets of fresh flowers on arrival. Each accommodation is individually decorated and named, with artwork adorning the walls and beautiful wooden furniture.

There is also a gourmet restaurant, bar and beautiful Jasmine Gardens.

Dining

The restaurant has views to the garden and serves an American style buffet every morning, then serves international delicacies as well as international cuisine.

Activities

There is a city tour of Cuenca run from the hotel, and with so much to explore it is well worth taking part in. Visits to Cajas National Park are possible and take a full 8 hours, with over 232 lakes to discover, a great option for nature lovers. There are also trips to the archaeological complex of ingapirca in the heart of the Southern Andes and to Gualaceo, a bright and colourful town. Most of the excursions take a full 8 hours and come with an English speaking guide.
