about insolito, buzios

Insolito is a sophisticated beach hotel designed to reflect the huge mix of cultures and nationalities in Buzios, a place where you can completely immerse yourself in Brazilian culture. Suites are individually and uniquely themed and contain works of art and books and have sweeping vistas over Ferradura Beach. There are lots of little interesting quirks through the hotel, such as the recycled rubber carpets, which were made in cooperation with the inmates of Muzambinho and Nova Resende and various other designer made objects dotted around.

Venture through the blissful gardens to find your secluded spot, or head down to the beach where you can find sun, sand, sea, surf and snorkelling…

insolito detail

Stylish, slick and chic. A luxurious hotel with great beach access.

Sprawling down a cliff perched over Ferradura Beach, the hotel is about 2.5 hours away from Rio de Janeiro - in the fabulous city of Buzios. Private charter flights can be arranged from Rio (or any other Braxilian city) to Buzios Airport, or you can easily drive from the International Airport in Rio, about 180km away. Transfers can also be arranged.

Accommodation & Facilities

Rooms slot into 4 different catergories, Superior, Deluxe, Master Suites and the Insolito Suite. All are differently themed, from Afro-Brazilian culture and indigeonous feather headdresses to butterflies (which is actually in butterfly reserve), but have a Brazilian beach theme running through them all with white washed walls and bursts of colour. Everything in these rooms is top of the range, from the beds and bathrobes to the TV and DVD player and the en-suite bathrooms have a suave sophistication…as well as rain head showers for a tropical washing experience! The Insolitio Suite has a veranda with a Jacuzzi, some rooms have little gardens and the ‘fotografia e literature’ suite has a wonderful outdoor Jacuzzi which can be shrouded in curtains for a little more privacy…

There are two swimming pools, one with sweet and the other with salt water, as well as a steam sauna, dry sauna, Jacuzzi and Ofurô (short Japanese bathtub). There is also a Wellness centre where one can go to revive the sense with treatments and massage – all with a spectacular view!

Cuisine is ‘Franco Brazilian fusion’, and makes the most out of the local seafood and its unique natural surroundings.

There a few bicycles and 2 boats for the use of guests, one which is great for tours and picnics, the other for water sports, such as water-skiing and wakeboarding. As well as this, there is the whole of the Buzios peninsular to explore with its 26 beaches and secluded coves, vibrant nightlife and wonderful shopping.
