Experience one of the world's most exclusive wildlife encounters on the remote coastline of Peninsula Valdés. Each winter, southern right whales migrate from Antarctic waters to the sheltered bays of Argentinian Patagonia, creating a rare opportunity to swim alongside these gentle giants in their natural environment.
Based in the small coastal settlement of Puerto Pirámides, you'll spend five unforgettable days on the water with specialist whale swimming guides and underwater photography experts. With only a handful of permits issued each season and strict limits on guest numbers, this is an exceptionally intimate wildlife experience.
When you're not in the water, discover Patagonia's dramatic coastline, watch sea lions play beneath the waves and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of one of Argentina's most important marine wildlife sanctuaries.

Arrive in Argentina and make your way to Puerto Madryn or Trelew before transferring to Puerto Pirámides on the Peninsula Valdés coastline. This evening, meet your expedition team for a detailed safety briefing, whale behaviour presentation and introduction to the week ahead.
Overnight: Rayentray Las Restingas Hotel de Mar

Over the next five days, head out each morning aboard your specialist whale swimming vessel in search of southern right whales. After gearing up in your drysuit or wetsuit, you'll travel to nearby whale sites where these magnificent animals gather during their annual migration.
One swimmer enters the water at a time, creating a calm and respectful encounter that allows for incredible photographic opportunities and intimate wildlife experiences. With permits restricted to only a small number of operators, this is among the most exclusive whale swimming adventures available anywhere in the world.
Days are spent observing whale behaviour, photographing these gentle giants and enjoying encounters with playful sea lions that frequently join the experience. Afternoons are free to relax, review photographs or explore the surrounding coastline. Optional activities include horseback riding, birdwatching and guided wildlife excursions.
On one day, subject to weather conditions, you'll explore Playa El Doradillo, renowned for offering some of Patagonia's finest land-based whale watching opportunities.
