Indonesia Exclusive Komodo Dragons Expedition

Cruise through the islands on Indonesia on your own private boat, seeing the world's largest lizard, the Komodo Dragon in their natural habitat.

After a scenic flight, you'll board the Amandira in Labuan Bajo, and begin cruising to Sabayor where you'll be able to dive and snorkel in the surrounding reefs. Over the next few days you'll experience famous dive sites such as Crystal Rock, Castle Rock and the Shotgun. You''ll visit the incredible Sangeang volcano as well as Komodo National Park to see the amazing wildlife, including the Komodo Dragon.

Day 1

Arrive Labuan Bajo

After a scenic flight, arrive at Labuhan Bajo’s Mutiara airport and transfer directly to the harbour where you will board Amandira in Labuan Bajo with a warm welcome by the crew and begin cruising to Sabayor. After lunch, dive and snorkel the beautiful surrounding reefs. Slowly cruise to our overnight mooring and enjoy dinner on board.

Day 2

Labaun Bajo – Gili Lawa Durat

In the morning cruise north to Gili Lawa Laut and experience famous dive sites such as Crystal Rock, Castle Rock and the Shotgun. Overnight mooring at nearby Gili Lawa Darat also provides an excellent location for a short uphill trek to catch the sun setting behind nearby Sumbawa Island, next to the active Sangeang Volcano.

Day 3

Sangeang Volcano

Awake beside Sangeang to view wildlife passing on the beach and dive the magical bubble reef for an explosion of colour. Cruise in the afternoon to Banta, which offers more diving opportunities.

Day 4

Batu Monco

Awake in Batu Monco, the peaceful bay located in the northwest corner of Komodo. Kayak or paddle board around the perimeter to see stunning hard corals in clear water. Diving here offers a chance encounter with manta rays. During the afternoon, head back to northeast Komodo.

Day 5

Batu Balong & Siaba Besar

Moving to central Komodo National Park, explore dive sites such as the magical Batu Balong and Siaba Besar. Beach set ups are possible close to Wainilu Island. Overnight anchorage prepares guests for the following morning’s trek.

Day 6

Rinca Island

No trip to Komodo is complete without visiting the home of the world’s largest lizard. Depart early morning to the nearby Rinca Island for a trek through this rugged and almost lunar landscape. Look out for buffalo, deer and monkeys. Return and cruise to Padar, offering an unforgettable trek to the most famous view point in the national park.

Day 7

Pulau Makassar

Awake as we cruise once more to the centre of the park. Snorkel or dive at an excellent turtle spotting site, before eating lunch atop the magical sandy atoll of Pulau Makassar. Dive or snorkel around this area, or simply enjoy the tranquillity. Take in the final sunset with a cocktail from the comfort of the deck, bringing a magical end to your trip.

Day 8

Depart Labuan Bajo

During breakfast, cruise the short distance to Labuan Bajo in preparation for departure. Depending on the flight schedule, transfer directly to the airport for your onward flight.
